The Calves Field
Our self catering country house, with bespoke catered dining options, is ideal for family staycations and for Pre Weddings. It is set in a tranquil location on our family farm, near Ashley Park House, Cloughjordan House & Coolbawn Quay wedding venues, with only the tweet of birds and the mooing of cows as a soundtrack. The area is surrounded by meandering country roads which lead to the local villages, a pub over 100 years old and the majestic Lough Derg set on the River Shannon. The house consists of four large double rooms, two of which are ensuite, three bathrooms and a large, high spec open plan kitchen dining area with Electrolux Appliances and Stanley stoves. The Sun Lounge, with its pitched roof, is drenched in natural light with french doors which lead to our extensive, mature gardens. We have invested in top of the range appliances, stoves and finishes to offer you the comforts of home and a little more. We do not believe in compromising when it comes to our free time and do not wish our guests to either. With that in mind, we invite you to be our guest and allow us to help you enjoy everything The Calves Field and surrounding area has to offer.

The gardens are designed to let our guests relax and take in the Irish countryside. Sit back and take in the sounds of the birds, sheep, cows, horses and the odd cow! The house is surrounded by large lawns which have been planted with trees and shrubs with each creating a feature in the garden at different seasons throughout the year. We have also retained traditional hedgerows on site and allowed a large area to grow wild in order to allow wildlife to flourish. Our small orchard also provides our guests with fresh apples and cherries when in season.
Christmas is our favourite time of year. We have enjoyed many beautiful family gatherings over the festive period in our home, therefore you can be assured that we have everything you need to create a sumptuous Christmas feast. We take great pride in decorating our home and garden to ensure it is a truly memorable experience. We even leave a bail of hay and carrots from our family farm for Rudolph. The two wood fired stoves create a wonderful, warm and cosy atmosphere for you all to snuggle and enjoy some truly quality time with your loved ones.
At The Calves Field we love to host families. We have enjoyed some very precious family occasions at our home and really want you to feel at home, without compromising on all the comforts of your own home. If you wish to take a break with family or friends we have all of the facilities your group could require ensuring to make your break as stress free as possible. We can even arrange delivery of food through a local caterer to give our guests a break from cooking if they wish.

If a relaxing break with a new born is on the cards we really can make your trip as comfortable as possible for parents and their babies alike.
Whether you stay for a short or longer time at our home, we believe a break away from the regular household chores is really important. Allow us take care of the cleaning of our home, kick back and relax. For stays of one week or more, we will call and supply fresh towels and linen.

We had the most fabulous stay in Catherina's beautiful house the night before my wedding. Catherina's home is the perfect environment for the night before & morning of your wedding and she has countless thoughtful details scattered throughout the house, along with many wonderful photo spots! I cannot speak highly enough of the house and indeed of Catherina's fantastic help! We will definitely be back! :)"
